| This was my first visit out to Page Mill Winery since it moved to the Livermore Valley. The tasting room is part of a huge barn-like structure that is also where the winery houses its barrels. Overall, the tasting room is a fun place to visit. It is nicely decorated and has a really cozy feel to it. The smell from the barrels adds real character to the place. The staff was really nice and knowledgable. They were talkative and ready to offer up interesting factoids about the wine including showing us a Google map of the vineyard. Their little pug greets all visitors and wanders around their feet in hopes of catching a glimpse of something falling on the ground (with its huge bug eyes). Some of the people were not all that fond of dogs, but I'm a huge dog lover so I didn't mind. The space is a little small, and there is no place to sit. The tasting bar can only serve about 4 people at a time, but that didn't seem to bother anyone. It certainly didn't bother me because I was having a good time chatting with the staff. I recommend a stop at Page Mill's tasting room if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed. Visited June 2008. | ||
