| Located just a few miles from downtown Leavenworth, this area in Peshastin is totally worth checking out. Apple and cherry orchards line the drive and are produced on the estate alongside newly planted grapevines. The effect is green and lush and lovely this time of year. But best of all, this tasting room is inside a little cave where no heat or sunlight enters to spoil the winemaking process. The tasting room is packed floor-to-ceiling with barrels of a new vintage of Lemberger that will be ready next year, and this means room for only a few people at a time inside. I would hate to be squished in here when one of those big limo tours roll up. But, I would brave it for another taste of the Trois Cheveaux Rouges and the delicious smell of toasty oak barrels on the cold stone floor. Visited 06/21/08. | ||
