I recently had this wine at a dinner party. I never have been a big fan of Santa Cruz Pinots, but this one was good. I also understand that this was the wineries first vintage (do not know if this is true). Anyway, on the nose there was cherry, spices and light pepper. On the palate, the wine had a medium body with cherry (like a jolly rancher), light earth and pepper. The wine was smooth and sweet. Overall I enjoyed this wine. Tasted May'08.

I opened this wine a little before it's time. Even so, this wine shows great potential that I believe will peak in 2-3 years. The wine is still a little tannic. Apart from that, it has a vibrant purple color and aromas of fruit and berries. The same can be said about the flavor. I highly recommend this wine. Tasted 6/10/06.

Not released at the time of tasting. Some were bottled for the tasting event. This limited production wine will sell out quickly. Approx. 100 cases, of this young, but full of potential wine needs about 3 - 5 years of cellaring. This wine had a fruity taste and a faint nose. Futures were being sold at my tasting. Tasted Nov'05.

The winemaker tells me that only 100 cases of this wine will be produced. That is a shame! This is one of the finest Santa Cruz pinots that I've tasted in a while. It is still young, but with 3 - 5 years of aging, I believe that it will really come into its own. Right now, it has characteristics of fruit. It is also a bit jammy. Tasted Nov 2005.
